Plus it also offers a serene, mildly challenging trail network for the horseback riders, and a challenging fishing experience a series of churning rapids paced with flowing pools of deeper water unfolds, creating a truly unique fishing experience.

An amazing spot for the whole family to relax in, and have a fun exercise while being shown with a scenic view of the falls, and there are picnic areas with grills, a large boathouse, visitor center, restrooms, Adirondack chairs, docks, and trails along the river. The main draw is taking the Riverbend path along the water which eventually leads to Great Falls National Park.

You will always come back for more amazing experiences! Difficult Run Trail is a 15.8 kilometer that features a waterfall and is rated as a moderate hike. The trail also offers an accessible year-round. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.

Enjoy a beautiful walk along the Virginia side of the Potomac River, and the area known as Great Falls. Most of the trails are easy to moderate, but with a fast pace, you can still get a good workout. Lots of scenic overlooks of the river, and the falls. You will definitely come back for a more amazing nature experience! And the best part is, it’s just a 1.5 miles walk to Great Falls. Easy access to the river here too if you want to take a canoe/kayak out. Clean toilets and a small information center selling a different selection of refreshments.

This is a spectacular hiking trail one of the best multi-use hiking trails in Great Falls. It is one of the easiest trails to navigate for even inexperienced hikers, plus it is a historic trail that is often used for horseback riding, stroller walks, and biking that is perfect for the Family. The path becomes a bit more hilly and steep toward the southern end, making that point better for hiking than biking.
